I personally really love Shoujo manga. And as everyone might know, almost all shoujo are almost the same.
They’re just too predictable. The main female character falls in love with a boy, but of course, this boy has some ‘secret’ background. This secret usually is:
- he has an ex-girlfriend he really loves
- he is the main characters childhood friend
- he comes from a very rich family
Even though it’s so predictable, I can’t help myself but really get drawn in these kind of manga. Well, I guess the main reason are those bishonen. I love them.
But of course there are some exceptions. These manga have a really great story, and aren’t mainly focused on love. I really like these kind of shoujo manga. An example of this manga is, as the title aready said, Gakuen Alice.
In my opinion, Gakuen Alice is one of the best shoujo mangas, I’ve read. Of course, love is an important factor in this series. Which makes it a very shoujo manga, along with the art-style (which is very beautiful).
